We are pleased that our financial strength was reaffirmed with a A+, outlook negative credit rating from Standard and Poor’s in January 2023. This places emh amongst the top-rated Housing Associations in the country and above many leading commercial companies.
We continue to challenge ourselves to be financially efficient and aim to reduce our core operating costs through cost saving and growth. As a profit for purpose organisation, our priority is to maximise the margin on our core operations in order to generate cash for new developments, new projects and reinvestment in our services and assets. In shaping this business plan, our Boards have actively engaged with our customers and colleagues to understand their perspectives on where our priorities should be. Our mission and values wrap around and drive this whole plan. We exist to provide homes and care to improve opportunities for people, and we pledge to do the basics brilliantly and keep on getting better. The values that underpin everything we do are unchanged. Gender & Ethnicity Pay Gap Report 2023
We recognise that achieving gender or ethnicity pay and wider equality is not a short-term quick fix or one size fits all approach across the diverse businesses within emh. Each year we publish a Gender and Ethnicity Pay Gap Report to be transparent about our performance and highlight actions to address inequality.
