We’re committed to keeping people safe and well – at home and at work.
We’re making steady progress towards accrediting the whole business to the ISO 45001 safety standard. Aligning with this independent global benchmark signals how seriously we take health and safety. To reach the accreditation, we have to satisfy the assessors about the rules, culture and practice in each part of the group.
We consult and listen to residents and colleagues about health, safety and wellbeing, keeping our practice under continuous review to ensure we learn lessons and act on them. The residents Health and Safety Committee helps us to assess home and community risks such as damp, mould and condensation, open water, fire, explosion and hoarding.
To support colleagues’ wellbeing, we have a comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme and an in-house team of mental health first aiders.

“I know how hard it is to cope with mental health issues. Being a mental health first aider is not just a skill, it’s a responsibility.”
