We work with hundreds of other organisations, groups and individuals in the East Midlands and beyond.

Our success rests upon the strength, creativity and opportunities generated through these partnerships.

Our key partners include those listed below.

Customers

Customers are the reason we exist. They also pay for all our services and borrowing to build more new homes. We work with customers in many different ways to make sure we respect people's differences, hear their voices and make use of their on-the-spot knowledge and experiences of the communities we serve.

Blaby District Council

Local authorities

We work with more than 45 local councils in and around the East Midlands. A big proportion of our homes were originally built by and transferred from these councils, and they remain key strategic partners and enablers across the region. Local authorities also play a central role in commissioning and supporting care services and administering Housing Benefit.

Homes England

Homes England

Homes England is the government’s homebuilding agency, which directs and supports new building and regeneration through grants, standards and innovation. We were among the first housing providers to join its Strategic Partners programme, which gives us greater certainty of funding and flexibility in how we use it.

The Villers

Lenders and investors

We raise money to pay for new homes and investment from a wide range of financial institutions, including banks, building societies and the bond market. To put their trust in us, lenders have to be confident of our financial stability and competence.

Henson House, The Villers

PlaceShapers

We’re proud to be a longstanding and active member of PlaceShapers – a network of more than 100 housing associations committed to supporting thriving communities and places. As a PlaceShaper association we work as part of the communities we serve, sharing ideas and best practice with other members to achieve more for local people.

Owl

Contractors and suppliers

Our business supports enterprise, expertise and the East Midlands regional economy. We particularly choose to work with local smaller and medium-sized companies that share our vision and objectives. We have long-term partnering arrangements in place with a number of key providers (for example, a building supplies and waste arrangement with Travis Perkins, which reduces landfill and generates money for social investment).

Strategic Partner Light

East Midlands Chamber

The East Midlands Chamber connects us to the region’s wider business community, ensuring we both shape and reflect best practice as an employer and service provider. We have a strategic partnership with the Chamber to research and promote greater diversity in business.

“Our strategic partnership with emh is tremendously valuable in the drive to create a truly inclusive workforce in the region's business community.”

Lucy Robinson, Director of Resources, East Midlands Chamber
