Thinking about moving?
Whether you’re looking for a change of scenery, more space or a different area, there are options to help you move. One of the quickest and most flexible ways is through a mutual exchange, where you swap homes with another resident.
If approved, each resident takes over the existing tenancy, meaning you take responsibility for any repairs or renovations needed at the time of the exchange.
If your circumstances have changed and you need to move, you’ll need to register with your local authority, as they manage the housing waiting lists. We don’t hold an internal waiting list.
If your need to move is urgent, your housing officer will offer guidance and support. They can help you explore your options, explain the process, and make sure you have the advice you need to find a suitable home.
- Find a home – start your search on HomeSwapper, the UK’s largest mutual exchange platform
- Apply online
- Follow the approval process.
- Your rent account must be up to date
- The property must be in good condition (home inspection required)
- No outstanding tenancy action.
- It’s not allowed in your tenancy agreement
- You owe us rent
- The exchange would cause overcrowding or under-occupation
- The home is specifically designed for people with certain needs
- The other landlord doesn’t give consent
- A court order exists for breach of tenancy conditions.
