Managing pest issues in your home
You're responsible for managing any pest infestations that occur inside your home. This includes dealing with wasps, rats, mice, squirrels, bed bugs and fleas.
If you need support choosing a reputable pest control contractor, you can contact your local council’s Environmental Health department for advice.
If pests enter your home because of damage to the building’s structure — such as a hole in brickwork — we will reimburse the cost of your pest control treatment.
We will also carry out the repairs needed to stop pests from re‑entering your home. To arrange this, we will need a copy of the pest control contractor’s report confirming the cause of the infestation and the repairs required.
If an infestation occurs in a shared area of an emh‑owned building, we will arrange for a contractor to resolve the issue. The cost of this work is covered through the scheme’s service charges.
