New STAIRs scheme makes it easier to access information about emh

From 1 October 2026, a new national scheme called the Social Tenants' Access to Information Requirements (STAIRs) comes into effect, helping social housing customers find key information about their landlord more easily.

At emh, we're committed to being open and transparent about how we manage homes, spend money and deliver services. To support the new requirements, we've created a dedicated STAIRs webpage, bringing together a wide range of information in one easy-to-access location.

The new scheme is designed to help social housing customers better understand how housing providers work, how decisions are made and how services are performing.

What information can I access?

Our STAIRs page includes information about:

• How emh is governed and how decisions are made
• How money from rent and service charges is spent
• How we manage and invest in homes
• How we're performing as a landlord
• The housing services and support available to customers
• Our policies, plans and strategies for social housing
• Ways customers can get involved and help shape services

You'll also find links to important reports, policies and performance information.

Requesting a review

If you think information should be included in our STAIRs publication scheme but can't find it, you can ask us to review it.

We'll look into your request and let you know the outcome. If you're not happy with our response, or if you don't receive a response, you may be able to seek further advice from the Housing Ombudsman Service.

Looking ahead

From 1 April 2027, customers will also have the right to request specific information directly from their landlord about the management of their social housing. We'll share more information about this closer to the launch date.
